CAL WASHINGTON

Q & A WITH CAL

Q: What is one goal you have for yourself in baseball?

A: MY goal is to play professional baseball and inspire others to achieve their goals to play.

Q: What do you like to do when you're not playing baseball?

A: I enjoy movies, Disneyland, spending time with my family and friends and playing video games

Q: What's the dumbest thing you've heard from spectators in the stands?

A: The dumbest thing I’ve heard from the stands was a Dad screaming at his kid to run when it was a foul ball and the kid turned around and said it’s foul.. and he said to run anyway lol

Q: What's the best advice you've been given by a coach or mentor?

A: The best advice I’ve heard is from my mom. She always encourages me to work hard and believe in myself. She always says hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

Q: What has baseball taught you that you can apply in life outside of athletics?

A: Baseball has taught me to never give up after striking out or a bad play, because there is a lot of game left.. and of I let that bother me the rest the game will go bad as well. I use that same energy throughout life. A bad moment doesn’t mean a bad day.
